Important Reminder: Student Tardies

Dear Hardin Elementary Parents and Guardians,

We want to remind everyone about the importance of students arriving at school on time each day. Tardies are becoming a concern, and we need your partnership to ensure our students begin their school day ready to learn.

The school day begins at 7:35 a.m. Breakfast is served from 7:00–7:30 a.m. If your child arrives after 7:30 a.m., they will still be provided breakfast through our Grab N Go option so they can get to class as quickly as possible.

Arriving on time is important because the beginning of the school day sets the tone for learning. When students arrive late, they may miss important directions, morning routines, instructional time, and opportunities to connect with their classmates and teacher. Consistent on-time arrival helps students develop responsibility, establish positive habits, and maximize their learning each day.

One expectation I share with our staff is:

“Early is on time, on time is late, and late is unacceptable.”

Please help us reinforce this same expectation with our students. Please plan to have your child at school with enough time to enter the building, get settled, and be ready for instruction by 7:35 a.m.

If you happen to arrive late, you must walk your child into the building and check them in at the front office. For the safety and security of all our students, parents should not drop off students at the entrance after the tardy time.

Thank you for your continued partnership and for helping us make every minute of every school day count. Together, we can ensure our students start each day on time, prepared, and ready to learn.
